St. Peter-Ording is located directly on the North Sea coast, and anyone who sets out across the wooden pier toward the North Sea will soon find themselves in a seemingly endless expanse - nothing but sand, sea and sky as far as the eye can see. The fine-sand beach stretches for twelve kilometers from north to south and is up to two kilometers wide at low tide. St. Peter-Ording consists of four districts: Böhl, Dorf, Bad and Ording. Each part has its own character, so there is something for every taste and type of vacation. The proximity to the sea attracts water sports enthusiasts and bathers alike, but also those seeking relaxation can enjoy their time in the beach chair. In addition, an extensive pine forest along the coast invites for walks. Another special destination in the region is the red and white striped lighthouse Westerhever. It is well known from the TV commercials of a large North German beer brand and is the landmark of the Eiderstedt peninsula.
